DJ Primetime was born & raised in Los Angeles, CA and has always been enamored with music since he began playing the drums when he was two years old. He’s a DJ and producer who utilizes plenty of live music and samples in the songs he creates. He grew up seeing his father DJ and hearing his mother play jazz constantly at home, so it could be said that his career in music was destined.
Although he played the drums in church throughout his youth, it wouldn’t be until 2016 when his song “Tear It Up” ft. Vinny West and Famous Uno that went viral on Soundcloud (over 1.8 million views), that he would decide to pursue music full-time. Inspired by the likes of DJ Khaled, Mustard, Quincy Jones, Kanye, and Pharrell Influenced by music legends such as Pharrell and Quincy Jones he prides himself on the use of live instruments and samples in his production stating that “energy never lies.”
Now, Primetime is ready to show audiences what he’s fully capable of, and has a Single coming this summer titled “How We Do It” featuring Bluebucksclan & Chris O’bannon. The single releases on June 22nd, on all streaming platforms: Apple Music, Spotify, Youtube, Deezer, Amazon, tidal, Google play + more! Primetime’s ultimate goal is to chart on Billboard and someday win a Grammy for his work. We definitely see that happening very soon!
